Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken at my home in North Port Florida. It was an outdoor themed shoot with model Cosmira.

Time

I wanted a mid to late evening shot as the sun setting in Florida usually gives some brilliant colors.

Lighting

No additional light was used except a gold reflector off to the models right.

Equipment

This was shot an a Canon 5D Mark III, with a 28-135 Canon lens.

Inspiration

Cosmira is a traveling model who contacted me through ModemMayhen.com. We started in and around the different types of bamboo in my yard and then moved to the pool for some shots. With the pool pump off and after the water settled I was able to get a mirror image.

Editing

I had to remove the rail from the steps of the pool and a glimpse of my shed in the background. Other that that not a lot of post processing was done.

In my camera bag

It's different with each shoot as I tray to plan ahead as much as possible. Normally its my Canon 5D Mark III, a 28=135mm lens, and my 50mm Canon lens.

Feedback

There was nothing set in stone on this shoot. Cosmira was open to any pose I thought would be creative was quite good at her job. Advice to others? Look and see the light and how it strikes your subject. Not every shot is going to be perfect, but keep shooting and trying different angles and you will get some good shots.
