Location
This photo was taken near the Douglas Spring Trailhead on the border of East Saguaro National Park and Coronado National Forest. This was my first attempt at photographing the moon.Time
I was setting up to photography the rare total lunar eclipse of a Supermoon. It was around 5:30 pm when I got to the location to set up for the supermoon shots, but as the sun began to set around me I turned my camera westward toward Tuscon. It was September 27, 2015.Lighting
The sky looked as if it was on fire near the Tucson Mountains.Equipment
This was shot with my first digital camera, a Nikon D3000 accompanied by a Tameron AF 18-200mm lens and a tripod.Inspiration
The sunsets in Tucson AZ are what every photographer needs to be inspired to photograph landscapes.Editing
There is very little post-processing on this sunset. I added a bit of contrast but the scenery and the colors are all-natural.In my camera bag
Of course, I always have my Nikon D3400, Nikkor lenses 70-300mm and 18-55mm. From there it depends on the situation that I am going into which dictates if a tripod is warranted or if my lighting system is needed.Feedback
Plan your photography outing, but don't forget to look away from your subject matter for a few moments and see what else is going on. If you don't look up, you might miss the shot of a lifetime.
