Behind The Lens

Location

Captured this images at the Monterey Fire Academy during live fire training

Time

Captured this images around 8pm PST

Lighting

All light was a mix of the fire, some handheld fire lights

Equipment

Captured with my Canon 6D mkii, and 24-70 f/2.8 Lens hand held

Inspiration

Photography has been a passion since high school, but I ended up spending 25yrs as a paramedic/firefighter after my own home experience with our home fire due to arson. So this is my way of honoring those still serving

Editing

Only post production was some balance of light, shadow and highlights adjustments

In my camera bag

My gear Canon mkii DSLR, Canon 16-35 f2.8 Tamaron 24-70 G2 f/2.8 and Tamaron 70-200 G2 f/2.8, some filters, tripod, portable lighting Canon 600 flash

Feedback

Most local fire academy courses are through a community college or other educational institute. Contacting them for access is 1st step. Weather your trained to be inside up close as I was is another consideration
