The photo was taken in my kitchen of all places, I'm completely self taught and never tried something like this before, So it was a whole new lesson to learn.Time
I really can't remember if i'm honest, I think it was pretty early in the morning. I remember there not being a whole lot of sun and being freezing cold. That's right it was really frosty aswell!Lighting
I recently got my first flash gun and really wanted to try some flash photography and saw soooo many photos capturing smoke and paint in an instint and thought 'I really gotta try that', So I set up a two torchlights with different coloured sweet wrappers of them to create the colour and the flash gun positioned to the side to capture the water.Equipment
This was taken on a Canon 500D with a 50mm lence, a yongnuo flash on a manfrotto tripod with a plain white chopping board for the background, two manfrotto torchlights with sweet wrappers on.Inspiration
I've always been fascinated by objects captured in an instance and saw soo many photo with smoke that look so unreal but kind of magical and genuinely quite cool and I remember just thinking to myself, 'That's so cool, I want a go!' so I invested in my first flash gun and spent hours playing around with it.Editing
There were a few tweaks here and there mainly with the colour to help it pop out a bit more. but other than that just a few adjustments to the highlights. In my camera bag
My bag a lot of the time is farely quite light, usually my Canon 200D with the 50mm attached. along with a 24mm and a 105mm lens. spare batteries (which are usually flat) and memory cards. some gradient filters. Sweet wrappers for coloured lights. My canon powershot for little bits I want to film for memory sake, wireless triggers and usually a bag of sweets.Feedback
Patience, patience, patience. Patience is everything, If you try to rush it, it looks bad, outta focus and you won't be happy. It's were I learnt that taking photos really does take time, so you can make it something you are proud of.
