Had the chance to escape from work for a few days and shoot in Southern Utah, I had thought about going into Goblin Valley to do some shooting, but figured since I shot in the park last year I'd try and find a new composition to shoot this year. This large rock formation is literally right next to the highway so I decided to stop here and take some shots. First thing that happened? Headlamp broke. Then my compass broke, lol, inauspicious start to say the least. Luckily another nightscape photographer decided to meet up with me and he had a spare headlamp I could use for the weekend. We both had some led light panels so we used them to illuminate the rocks and started shooting.

This is a 15 shot pano, 10 for the sky, 5 for the foregrpund, all taken back to back with my Nikon D600 (full spectrum modified) and Sigma Art 35mm lens on a Sky Watcher Star Adventurer tracking mount. Sky shots were 1 minute exposures at f2 and ISO 1600, foreground exposures were 2 minute exposures at ISO 800 and f2.
