The photo was taken in my backyard on the evening of the day of purchasing it. I love nature and the flowers of summer. Every time I purchase and/or see a flower I always want to create an image of it. Some times my morning or evening walks turn into hours of photographing and very little exercise.Time
This image was taken towards the 7:00 p.m. daylight savings time. As soon as I hung the lovely basket I saw this group of blooms and knew I had to capture a lasting image of them.Lighting
When I looked into the lens of my camera and saw how exquisite the colors were with the softly lite green grass background I knew I had to create a lasting image.Equipment
I photographed this image hand held with my Canon EOS 7 D camera.Inspiration
I saw this particular group of flowers on the overall basket and I just knew they were so perfectly arranged for an exquisite art piece so I ran inside my home and brought out the Canon. I fell in love with the amazing vibrancy of the pinks and red against the out of focus greens. Even my husband was impressed with the image.Editing
Using my Perfect Photo Suite 9 software I created the soft edge effect. In my camera bag
I love my Canon EOS 7 D camera with the 70-200mm lens. While there are several other lens in my bag this is always my go to lens.Feedback
I have found in the event of photographing flowers that it doesn't take much of an area to create a beautiful image. While most of the time I take close ups or macro images with out of focus backgrounds I do recommend backing up and taking in the over all area of flowers at different angles. You don't want to miss any possibilities. Although most of the time I do hand hold my camera, if you do not have a steady hand always have a tripod available. Never settle for just one angle always take various angles so not to miss that perfect one. Lighting is also very important. I prefer early morning or mid evening. You have to develop your style. Developing your style is probably the most important next to creative lighting. Learn to study under a professional photographic artist that reflects your style, but never be afraid to venture into different areas.
