Echuka on the Murray River used to service the timber, wool, wheat and sheep industries on the border of NSW and Victoria in Australia with paddle steamers taking produce down the Murray to Adelaide and Melbourne in the 1800s to present day. The town is still active today but the paddles wheelers are used some produce as well as tourism down the river. There is a museum at Echuka which is very well designed and stocked with antiquities and items both from the past and present day. Worth a trip.
