Behind The Lens

Location

I captured this photograph at the bottom of Clingman's Dome. Its a mountain in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina.

Time

This particular one was captured after our walk to the top of Clingham's Done and back. The view was spectacular walking back to the van. It was one of the last ones I took that day. 3:30 pm

Lighting

At the elevation we were at, we could almost see forever. There are several layers and depth in this photo. From the sidewalk he was standing on, to the grass, the trees, multiple mountains, and the clouds were perfectly placed.

Equipment

My trusty Nikon 3100. Short lens so I could capture as much as the background as I possibly could.

Inspiration

It was a gorgeous day and I happen to love taking photos nof landscapes. Especially with the depth of the layers of those beautiful Mountains. My son just happen to say, Look over there, Mom. The clouds are blocking the sun from hitting all the mountains.

Editing

I did edit the original. I sharpened the image and highlighted the clouds to make em pop a lil more.

In my camera bag

Nikon 3100 camera. Short lens up to 70mm Long lens 70mm to 300mm

Feedback

Every landscaping photograph has layers. Pick one particular feature you want to capture. Look for the angle that makes the feature pop out. Always step back and look. Then walk around and keep looking. Look as if it's already hanging on your wall.
