Location

My wife and I took a gorgeous hike in our future home of Colorado. This was taken at Emerald Lake, a rare opportunity with no other people around.

Time

This was in the afternoon, on an overcast day.

Lighting

I tried my best not to make the sky so bright.

Equipment

Tripod and Nikon D-5000

Inspiration

Inspiration is wherever you are in the Rockies. This can be said for almost any location, however, the mild illusion of the tree in the foreground blending with the far shore was a no brainier fro me.

Editing

I only tried to darken the sky a bit without a decent editor. Otherwise, the lake lived up to its name.

Feedback

I always recommend a tripod, be patient, and shoot in different modes to figure out what you like best.
