Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on Sunset Island in Ocean City, Md. I am lucky because I live here and this was after a storm had gone through. I love the views from here with the tree.

Time

I often walk the island at sunset, looking for different types of shots, different views & different picture options. They call it Sunset Island for all the beautiful sunset views. This was March 17, 2017 around 7:10 PM

Lighting

All the lighting is natural, nothing extra or special.

Equipment

Camera: Nikon D3400, Lens: Nikkor 18-55mm, Tripod: bell & howell aluminum tripod

Inspiration

The colors of the sky mirrored in the water is what inspired me. I thought the colors were amazing, with the reflections and the tree just draws your eye, i believe.

Editing

I always use Lightroom for post processing. I did processing on contrast, highlights, shadows and clarity with a small uptick in vibrance.

In my camera bag

I usually carry my two favorite cameras, my Nikon D3400 and my Nikon D70x. I carry all my lenses, because you never know what you are goign to need.

Feedback

For me, and this is strictly just my opinion, the best way to capture something similar, is to always be outdoors and always have your camera and lens ready to capture. I rarely, but not not never, plan my photo's or photoshoots, life normally dictates them for me.
