Behind The Lens
Location
I took this during the first few months of getting my DSLR. Back when I had just moved out from my mum's. I am a self-taught, amateur photographer, every photo is either a very lucky shot or something that took me hours to achieve.Time
This was taken in the very early hours of the morning, I was so excited about my DSLR that I couldn't sleep, so I got up (must have been 3/4 am!) And just experimented with all of the features.Lighting
I personally prefer natural light for nature shots, lighting is key for these shots, I have found too little, is too dark and too much is too bright. So, I wake up and sit for hours practicing the different angles, whilst the right lighting comes about for the shot I want.Equipment
I have used the Canon EOS 1100d and a standard zoom. Nothing fancy at all for this picture.Inspiration
This was one of MANY practice shots. As the saying goes, "practice makes perfect!"Editing
Not at all. I prefer to get it right on camera than to edit.In my camera bag
When going out and about, my camera is a must! Depending on location, depends on which lens. I only have two at the moment! And if I need my tripod. If it's people, I will pick at random some filters, too. Just for fun!Feedback
Perseverance. It can be hard working with natural light. Exhausting. But the satisfaction once you get that "YES!!!" shot, so worth it.
