This was my grandmothers horse cart which was her only transport back when my mum was a child. When my grandmother passed away my property was the only one with enough room to store the cart. Unfortunately nature is decaying the wood its made from and and is taking over. I thought it was time to take a photo to keep the memory of the past alive

Location
This photo was taken at my home in Tasmania. We have 5 acres of land and lots of old cars and this cart.Time
This was taken in the early afternoon with the sun lower in the sky.Lighting
The sun was very bright and no clouds in the sky. I loved the way the light created highlights on the dry grass surrounding the cart and on the cart itselfEquipment
Surprisingly I only used a Nikon point and shoot proving that you do not need expensive equipment to get the shot you want - just the ability to see something through the lens that inspires youInspiration
This cart belonged to my grandmother and is about 80 years old. When she passed away I was the only one in the family with a place big enough to store the cart. Unfortunately the weather and time is destroying the cart so I decided to take this photo to preserve a piece of my past forever. Hence this is why I named it “Nature taking over”Editing
I did post process and at that time I didn’t know anything about Lightroom or Photoshop. All I used was the editing tools provided by the photo storage on my Acer computer at the time. I used a filter called burlesque and then twigged the clarity and lighting to get the effect I wanted which was to make the cart look old and decayingIn my camera bag
Back when I took this photo all I had was a point and shoot camera. Now I have a Nikon D5600, 35mm lens, 70mm - 200mm Lens, 18mm-55mm lens, tripod as I like portrait and landscape photography. I also have two reflectors for achieving better light when doing portraiture. Also a spare battery so I never miss that elusive shot and a soft cloth to make sure my lens is clean before taking that shot.Feedback
To capture something similar I would say you need to have the correct lighting. It needs to be afternoon with very bright sunlight at an angle that causes highlights in the subject giving an almost over exposed look and then the rest is achieved by post processing with clarity and light adjusted to get the effect you desire
