Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo during a summer vacations through some of the Greek islands. I love photographing sunsets so I'm constantly chasing them

Time

Golden hour is my favourite time of the day and it was when I took this photo.

Lighting

Natural lighting was more than enough for this photography

Equipment

This was shot in a Canon 700D with a 18-55mm kit lens. A beginner kit; the camera is still the one I use today, the lens has now been replaced by new glass. :)

Inspiration

The whole scenario with the sailship and the sunset peeking over the clouds was such a spectacular view it could not be wasted. It just had to be captured in a moment

Editing

Just some basic post processing using Adobe Lightroom to enlighten some shadows and pop some colours

In my camera bag

My camera, my nifty fifty, a 10-18mm wide angle, a gorilla pod and my laptop for editing on the go whenever possible are the main items.

Feedback

Landscape photography for me is a mix of patience, hard work, sometimes very hard work and a bit of luck; like in this picture. I could've been in the exact same spot with the same conditions but, for me, if the sailboat wasn't there the impact of the photo would be immensely different.
