A few weeks ago, we went to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. My husband and I wanted to do one last hiking-camping trip before our wedding season took-off in full swing, and Shenandoah is somewhere we've been anxious to experience. I invited my sister Mackenzie (pictured) to join us, and took advantage of the gorgeous location by taking her senior portraits while on the trip. Situated north to south on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway, the park is filled with incredible non-technical climbing trails and vistas. After sleeping for only a few hours, we woke up before dawn and climbed up and over boulders to the summit of Bearfence Mountain. The wind was harsh and cold, but the beauty of its wild movement complemented not only our eccentric artisan hearts, but life's perfect symmetry.

Love this shot. Love how the colors of her hair and skin tone work against the mountains and the sky in the background. Is her hair composited together from several shots or is it just one?
