This is a super-macro image taken by reverse-mounting a 50mm prime lens to an 85mm prime in order to get a high magnification ratio. The image was lit by an external speedlight and diffuser mounted on the hot shoe. Because of the razor thin focal plane when shooting macro in this method, I decided to use a focus stacking method. I took 5-6 shots, focusing on a number of points from front to back, and focus-stacked them in photoshop. The spider was in actual fact a dead shell, or this method would be near impossible to do because of the close-focusing distance of the lens-setup and movement of the spider in between focus-stacked shots.
