The image characteristic is the bokeh this is a manually accomplished by detaching the lens from the camera and then focusing the lens in the eye piece of the camera and getting just the feature in the frame in focus you want then tweaking the blur. The image is almost as captured straight out of the camera light levels adjusted slightly in photoshop.
