The famous Whitsundays islands in Queensland, Australia. This lies between the mainland (Queensland) and the Great Barrier reef and the Whitehaven beach (in the background) is undoubtedly one of the beautiful beaches in the world. The sand is almost pure silica (~ 98%) which gives it a smooth texture and a bright white color. It also remains cool (mostly) even in the scorching sun.

In the foreground are the yellow boats by 'Ocean rafting' which ferry in people from Airlie Beach, Hamilton Island and the other island resorts. These are high speed boats which drop people right on the beach (other larger boats-ships cannot come close due to shallow waters near the beach).
