This beautiful caterpillar feeds mainly on the Frangipani and Bridal Bouquet plants and completely devours all the leaves and flowers on the plant. Once they have accomplished this they leave. The plant left completely bare, then starts to send out brand new shoots and fresh flowers after a few weeks. The plant is not damaged at all. It seems to be a happy relationship between caterpillar and the plant!! The caterpillar is very soft to touch like velvet with suction pads on their "feet".
