We are being inundated with Sargasso seaweed across the Caribbean at the moment, and it's not nice to deal with in such abundance. However this occurs only on the Atlantic side of our islands. All the beaches on the West Coast or Caribbean seaside where the majority of our hotels are Sargasso Free. This is a small amount washed up on a beach laying beautifully side by side with the shells. It's importance in the ocean's ecosystem cannot be ignored as it is a life system in the ocean for many animals.
