Slab slide

After setting eyes on this beauty of a boulder problem on a scouting hike I had this image on my mind. I wanted to do it while the water was still flowing fast but not so fast that the smear footholds would send me sliding 7m down the slab. I went back alone after a good afternoon of bouldering around Beechworth gorge just to check out the line, but something in me said go for it. I set up the camera on my tripod and shot the long exposure then I switched to timelapse mode and tied my shoes on. A sketchy traverse leads to the break where I took a breath and quested up the orange rock resisting the easier holds on the black streak. Topping out I was flooded with joy having fulfilled my hearts desire in the face of my fears, coming in at an almighty V0 (I would argue V1 all day long) Sunset strip will be one of those sends that I will reminisce about for a long time to come.
