Thaipusam 2017, a meaningful event not just for religious purpose but also a great opportunity to bring friends and families together to spend quality time with one another. At first, you may think many were experiencing pain. However, all I witnessed were joy, resilience and determination-from young to old-which made me really happy. Though I wasn't participating, I felt I was part of the event completely immersed with the atmosphere. It was like a celebration.
I also heard from a participant that such events can allow youths especially to do something meaningful instead of wasting time doing drugs, gang and all those kind of stuff.
