A Civil War Post that never saw battle but still lost men, women and children from the wilds of malaria infested swamp and waterways. Ft. Pike is almost in ruins as seen in this photo. I loved the contrast of the old with the 'new' of the elevated bridge connecting Lake Pontchartrain to Lake Catherine surrounding New Orleans. A very calm meditative view with the softness of the early morning.
