This is the first 'professional' looking cat portrait I've ever taken; and it happened by chance.
He was exploring round the hot tub and climbing on the gazebo, when he came back down and sat on the side the gazebo behind him made the perfect backdrop to bring out his gorgeous amber eyes, having him looking directly into the lens makes the image, in my opinion, more powerful and interesting.
I haven't looked at it in black and white though, that may make for an altogether different image.
