This was taken in my home. My wife made the Rasberry Merangue cookies and tea. She also setup the place setting and styling.Time
This was taken in the morning light on our kitchen table about 2:00pm. Our bay window faces east so we catch soft light in the morning.Lighting
This was shot in available light. We used one white reflector to fill in the shadows. I also set a custom white balance to ensure the color balance was correct and I didn't have to guess in post-processing.Equipment
I used a Benro tripod and ball head and shot this with a Nikon D800. I used a Sigma 105mm Macro Lens for this shot.Inspiration

I typically process my photos in Lightroom. This photo just received very light adjustment in post processing. I use several presets that I created for lens correction, contrast, clarity, and sharpness. I used the auto-tone control button to adjust the exposure in Lightroom.In my camera bag
I have several cameras and lenses so I pack according to the types of photos I intend to take. My basic load typically includes my Nikon D800, 24-70mm f2.8, 16-35mm f4, 70-200mm f4 Nikon lenses and a 105mm f2.8 Sigma lens. I also use 50mm f1.4, 85mm f1.4, and 80-400mm f4.5-5.6 Nikon lenses when the subject requires it. I rely on my Sekonic L-858DRU light meter to measure exposure and flash. This is calibrated to my sensor so I obtain precise exposure measurements and can evaluate the scene tonal range when necessary.Feedback
Good lighting is very important. Find a window with good lighting and know what time of day is best. Use a reflector to fill the opposite side from the light source. Angle is very important to make the composition interesting and to stand out from the crowd. Try several different angles and viewpoints for any particular setup. Back-lighting or side-lighting works the best.
