I was driving norhteast from Ephraim, Utah one February afternoon. Ahead in the pinyon-juniper forest I saw something odd. At first I thought it was a plastic bucket. As I got closer I realized it was an eagle. My camera was set and ready on the seat beside me. I rolled down my window and slowed to a stop. The eagle was under a tree and unsure of what to do. His confusion let me get several images before he hopped out from under a tree and carried off the rabbit he was feasting on. It was a wonderful experience to be so close to such a magnificent bird.
