The asteroidea of Motukeikei under light of Saturn... a #nooneseesitlikeme dreamscape composite.
This was one of the coolest nights I ever had out among the stars!
It was super sketchy getting there, a goat track down the bluffs with a rope and ladder. Then I had to wait for ages for the tide to drop enough to race around a bluff and then again for it to expose the starfish reef. Awesome night though, when I went back to my pack for a lens change there was a waist high penguin with big yellow eyebrows relaxing beside it. I was so focused on astro, now I wish I'd got a photo of him!
This is a multi-row stitched mosaic from a Sigma art 50mm-f1.4 lens... a composite of rising milkyway and westcoast seascape. My first non contemporaneous blend actually... a response to an arguement I had last week about undisclosed composites ruining true astro. There was a lot of support for the person who was passing composites off as real, mostly from not so astro experienced millennial types. So I thought bugger it I might dreamscape as many of NZ's famous locations as possible, see if it does in fact devalue true alignments.
