I love up close. I like to look in an animals eyes and try to feel what they feel. We have a local zoo and I love to spend time getting as close as

Spring is hard. Snow in March and April. Rain and a lot of hard winds.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took it in my front yard. We had islands of grass that divide my street so two way traffic. This Tom was visiting our neighborhood. He was brave and stood up to me. My family was yelling at me to come away. I love close ups so I wanted a chance to capture all his beautiful colors. I m a hobby photographer so my drive and choices are personal.

Time

It was about 3 in the afternoon on a weekend. Beautiful day. The huge trees on the islands are sycamore and their white peeling bark added to the other shots I got of his flock of girlfriends.

Lighting

The light was filtered and added to the brightness and highlights.

Equipment

My camera and my hands and feet.

Inspiration

Animals,color, life and timing

Editing

I don’t remember if any, lightning the shadows. Maybe sharp. It was hand held so that might have been one as well.

In my camera bag

I carry an opposite lenses. If I have zoom I carry a 50. I take my flash if it’s late in the day. Cleaner and wipes. Simple bag which is a backpack.

Feedback

Luck, pure luck. It wasn’t planned or time consuming planning my shots. I rely on my eyes and feet to find my love shots. My #5’s. If your expecting a photographer term or a great trip in nature I’m afraid I don’t use them. My hobby covers my walls in my home, my taste I’m afraid. It would be nice, especially for my family who have sacrificed for my camera and lenses to see a pro pat my back and say good job. in fact they would really hail my shot.
