The reflection of the mountains is visible on the waters that submerged what used to be the old town of Tehri in the state of Uttarakhand (India). As construction for Tehri Dam began the vast swathes of land covering many villages began sinking inch by inch. What used to be a vibrant hill town now lies inside the water. The entire city had to be relocated to New Tehri. These mountains witnessed the birth of the civilization at their feet and its subsequent disappearance, and their shadows eclipse the sunken city- protecting the remnants of a bygone era.
