I have recently been at my wife´s home country South Africa. We went on a camping trip in the Pilanesberg National Park. We have been standing at a particular waterhole for a while when this gentle giant appeared behind us. I immediately pointed my camera at him and started shooting. Since it was around 10 am the sun was standing high already. The light was very bright which gave me the opportunity to easily use the high key effect on this image.

I love how empty this photograph is. It places all of the focus on the Elephant with the detail of the skin. Truly an amazing image.
