Location
This was taken in my garage at home, with my daughter sat behind plexiglass to look like a window.Time
It took a while to set everything up, so around midday.Lighting
I used a fresnel light about 2.5 M off the ground pointing down a bit like a street light.Equipment
Canon 1DX with a 50mm lens, 1/125 shutter, F7.1 800 iso, using a tripod. Then plexiglass on a workbench, and some books to add atmosphere.Inspiration
I saw a youtube video using plexiglass and water, so thought I would try and get a shot that conveyed a story.Editing
Yes in Photoshop, i overlaid a layer using 'screen' blending mode of a cityscape i had photographed a while ago, to look like a reflection. In my camera bag
For wildlife I have Canon 1DX 3 with a 500mm F4 lens and 1.4 converter. In the studio now i use an EOS R mirrorless and 50mm and 24-105 lenses. Always make sure i have a remote release, and a speed light and triggers just in case!Feedback
Take time to get the angle of the light correct to just light the important parts. Can use some glycerine in the water to make the droplets look better, and then just play about with your shooting angle and position.
