Behind The Lens

Location

Hero's Island on Lake Champlain, VT USA

Time

Taken at sunrise. We had come down from touring in Canada and were unable to find suitable lodging since unknown to us, it was Canada's Thanksgiving Weekend so we just reclined our seats and slept in our car facing out unto the Eastern view of the lake. (still a lot more comfortable than enduring airline seats :) smile)

Lighting

Use settings as you would in a sunsets - it just requires an early rise!

Equipment

I just used my trusty Nikon COOLPIX 100 whch unfortunately does not allow the use of adapter lens such as polarizing filters.

Inspiration

Waking up looking directly at a majestic sunrise was beyond inspirational; I just wish I could have made a better capture!

Editing

I always attempt to improve my photos by cropping (which was unnecessary on this capture) and light adjustments.

In my camera bag

I'm a hobby enthusiastic and simply carry my all-in-one COOLPIX 100 for convenience.

Feedback

I luv sunrises which I believe are often times more dynamic than sunsets - simply lighting the sky in the East and also the West!!
