Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at a relative's house in Fairfield, Ct

Time

Late afternoon, around 4 PM

Lighting

No. I was focusing on the subject. This was late winter.

Equipment

Used a Canon T5 with a 75-300 lens. Shot at 75mm ISO 100 f4.5. No flash.

Inspiration

I wanted a different angle, so I laid on the ground for this shot. My dog loves sticks. She likes to break them, then sniff what is inside. She will usually lick it-not always liking the taste. This image caught her sniffing and about to lick the stick. I was also playing with depth of field. Wanted the dog in focus, but the background to be blurred.

Editing

I may have enhanced it.

In my camera bag

Canon T5 with 75-300mm lens and an 18-55mm lens. Also a Nikon D5100 I recently acquired with a 50mm lens, a 18-55mm lens, a 55-200mm lens, and a CanonSX 710 HS

Feedback

Try something different. Pets and children are good subjects to practice on. Try sitting or laying on the ground for a different angle. Try some close up shots. And take several shots to see what turns out best.
