Hi Folks, this is probably one of the most unique Snowy Owl experiences I've had and she did nothing but sit.

The light was simply incredible, we rarely get much sun in the winter but this year has been an exception. The last light of the day was just going down behind the escarpment and shot its golden glow on this bird, the clouds were mixed with fog and caused this insane pink - purple cast. This is SOC I didn't see anything i could possibly make better.

A Eurasian Eagle Owl peaking aid the corner.

This is a Snowy Owl doing something unique, fishing...but not for fish for rodents. This is a very deep furrow in a field and there was a flash thaw.

This time of year we start to see the GHO looking for love and nesting areas. This male flew at dusk towards the calls of a female in my forest.

A bit of an optical illusion, I managed to capture this image as this bird was coming towards me and just before she banked sharply to the left.

Here's a female Snowy Owl who was hunkered down in a wind storm, night was approaching and she lifted off to her night roost. It looks a lot more

A Barred Owl with yellow leaves as a background. It was sitting basking in the sun with eyes closed for several minutes. Not common for an owl.

This Snowy Owl was packing it in for the day and heading back to her roost point. I was able to see that she was about to launch and made the image.

They aren't the biggest owls in the world, or the prettiest, but they sure can make you ponder the decision of staying put, or moving quickly.
