Location

This photo was taken by me in Goa, India a few years ago.

Time

My favorite time for photography is sunrise and sunset, I took this owl almost immediately after sunset.

Lighting

Since the shooting was carried out in almost complete darkness, I used an additional light source Canon Speedlite 550EX

Equipment

My favorite brand is Canon. That photo was taken by Canon 1d Mark 3, lens - Canon 70-200mm 2.8 L usm, flash - Canon Speedlite 550EX, without using a tripod.

Inspiration

my friends rented a house in which a family of owls made a nest under the roof, because owls are nocturnal predators, at dusk they constantly flew hunting to feed the chicks and before flying one owl sat on a tree opposite the window apparently noticing me, and I took advantage of this situation . It turned out at the right time, in the right place.

Editing

I always shoot in RAW, it gives the opportunity for easy post-processing, in this photo I worked with shadows and highlights.

In my camera bag

Usually in my photo backpack there is always: a camera, a telephoto lens, a wide-angle lens, a flash, a set of filters for shooting at a slow shutter speed, a remote control, a powerful flashlight, a spare set of batteries for the flash, spare memory cards, a charger for the camera, a tripod and rain cover.
