LIGHT UP THE SKY

From aerial displays with helicopters and planes to ground activity, driving army tanks up and down the main freeway, the SANDF armed forces have lit up Durban this week.

They have been showing the public a glimpse of who they really are.

Last night there was great excitement in Durban as the military personnel shot off live rounds of ammunition from navy boats, army tanks and huge rocket launchers at Blue Lagoon.

This was a special demonstration for the public. You could literally feel the ground shake.

Here they show us how they use flares to brighten up an area & expose their enemies or for search & rescue.

The grand finale was a “flame fountain”, which no one expected. It was like a wall of sudden fire that mushroomed, and we felt the heat from 200m away.
