There is a sad story behind this photo - it was a Sunday afternoon, and downtown Albq was nearly deserted. I was enjoying a quiet moment, contemplating Beauty and Truth. I am not religious (despite my fondness for religious architecture), but that quiet contemplation of beauty was about as close as I have ever felt to a deity.
Then up walked a young couple, just out of a meeting in the church, on a mission to save the world. So they started asking me about my religious beliefs, and I pretty much said what I have said here. But they would not let it alone, kept saying I was wrong and going to H-e -double hockey sticks. I got very angry, and had to walk away. And walked away from that nearly-religious contemplation I had been enjoying. In their selfish efforts to prove themselves saints, they drove me away from deity.
