I took this picture at Point Pelee National Park in Leamington, ON, Canada. It was taken on the 27/10/2014Time
It was early morning around 6:30am. I went for a walk to the park early morning, then in my way out I stopped at a regular spot. But a few minutes before this stop, I was leaving "The Marsh" (one of the main areas in the park) and I saw a beautiful lady getting off her motor bike, took her helmet out and walked away. At that particular moment, I was leaving the marsh and hit the road but stopped in my way out of the park, as I said before. I parked my car, did a little walk into the walking board facing the water. After some 10-15 minutes, I decided to walk back to my car to depart from the park. At that particular instance, The Lady Biker that I saw before in the marsh was also departing and I saw her coming but she passed my car and I only could take the shot after she passed me. So, this is the shot.Lighting
When I came home I looked at the picture and I was not very impressed with it. So, I added a little bit of vignetting to the picture. At that particular spot, the tree canopies close at the top and give an impression of a tunnel. Hence, the vignetting improved this "Tunnel" effect with the light at the end of the tunnel. And, that is how I managed to produce the final version of the picture. In conclusion, just a little bit of vignetting enhanced my impression of the picture and decided to post it.Equipment
I used a Canon Rebel T5 with the kit lens. I no longer have this camera. No tripod used, just hand held. I have very steady hands, like a surgeon LOL.Inspiration
The inspiration came by surprise. I always like to stop at that spot where I took the picture and see if some motorbikes or cyclist are coming or going to take a picture of them. So, this one looked really good and I got lucky.Editing
Yes. I took a jpeg picture, not raw. On those days, I didn't even know how to use the raw profile and process it. So, I mentioned before, I added vignetting and a bit of sharpening to try to have a tunnel effect or something similar and cropping.In my camera bag
Nowadays, I have a Canon 80D and a Sony a6000, both with Sigma wide angle lenses. For the Canon I use a Sigma 18-35mm 1:1.8 DC and the kit lenses. For the a6000, I use a Sigma 16mm 1:1.4 DC DN and the kit lenses. I am thinking about upgrading this year to a full frame, but still undecided on what brand.Feedback
1. Never discard a picture that you think is bad. Just see if you can enhance it a bit without changing the original composition, just evaluate what you can do to improve it. 2. Now that I have more practice, I would say that always work with your Histogram & exposure, that is key to improve. 3. Before you take a picture, just imagine for one moment how it will look in the wall in your home or office. Then, take the shot
