Keet Seel is one of two main cliff dwellings at Navajo National Monument in Northeastern Arizona. I was used to more heavily visited cliff dwellings such as Mesa Verde, and other Ancient Puebloan sites such as Chaco Canyon. All of those look pristine, like they have been (and probably were) just swept out the morning of your visit. Keet Seel was a complete contrast - bits of feather lying around, and many of the little 3-inch corn cobs, and even pieces of woven-yucca sandal. It really looked lived in, as though the people had left just before you arrived there.
When I was there awhile back, a few visitors were allowed to backpack in and camp overnight. That is no longer allowed - everyone who can get a permit must hike the 8-9 miles in, then back out the same day.
