Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in London, UK, in Richmond Park.

Time

It was later afternoon in late summer.

Lighting

Just totally natural light, however there was very little sun, so the light is diffused which gives a nice result.

Equipment

Just a camera - this is a handheld photo. The deer do not stay in one place for a long time. You have to be ready to take the photo.

Inspiration

I am a wildlife photographer, animals are my passion. I waited for the deer to look at me almost, and then I took the photo.

Editing

A simple small crop. Otherwise just what you normally to improve the light a bit.

In my camera bag

Nowadays, I have my Nikon Z7-II with a 200-500 zoom and a Nikon D850 with a 28-300 zoom. A tripod, some filters, a hand held flash light, a macro lens, and some munchies. :-)

Feedback

Patience, and don't be afraid to put your camera on Manual with auto ISO set to max about 2000.
