Location
I took this photo in a remote location outside Stavanger, Norway. Remote location to avoid light pollution.Time
For me to get the shot I wanted I had to wait until sunset. This was shot in winter time, so not too late at night.Lighting
For astrophotography it is essential to avoid light pollution (lights from house, roads, cars etc...)Equipment
For this image I used a Nikon D3300 with a Samyang 14mm 2.8 lens. Tripod is essential for astrophotography.Inspiration
Looking for new places to shoot the Milky Way, and eager to see the surroundings and objects that could be a part of the image.Editing
Some post-processing to enhance the amazing colors of the milky way.In my camera bag
I have my favourite Sigma 14-24mm lens, along with a 70-300mm and a 35mm lens. Tripod always with me in the carFeedback
It requires some investigation in advance for a shot like this. Be aware of the moon - the moon might also generate unwanted light pollution. Other things to consider is that these shots are best captured in winter time due to the darkness.
