Behind The Lens

Location

It was taken at a sort of "private - isolated" beach in Camps Bay, Cape Town, South Africa. Nice rocks, sand and sea - but very cold water

Time

It was shot early morning (in the summer the light in South Africa is very bright). Camps Bay is on the western side of Cape Town and the mountains (Table Mountain). We still had a late breakfast after the shoot. Midday in the summer on the Atlantic seaboard is "bright"

Lighting

a friend of mine help me with a silver reflector

Equipment

Nikon D800 with the F2.8 70-200mm, handheld and the silver reflector

Inspiration

not really into the "boring" bikini poses. Especially the standing poses with "new" models can be a challenge. Recommended sitting poses or something that the model can keep her hand busy, beach ball, clothing, bikini top (ha-ha) etc.

Editing

At that stage I only use Photoshop. Now I use Lightroom and Photoshop. At the completion of the post processing I just take some noise off on the filter option

In my camera bag

Currently the D850, hopefully the Z9 soon (can anyone sponsor me), Tamron 85mm F1.8, Nikon F2.8 70-800 and Nikon F4 16-35mm

Feedback

If you shoot in the Cape, look at the weather forecast - it can help (and someone to assist you)
