Location
This photo was taken at a makeshift studio at a friend's temporary rental office space. Since there were no windows in the room it made it the ideal place to make a little studio. I set up using a black cotton backdrop and 4 LED lights with diffusers.Time
At around noon but since it was shot in door it made no difference.Lighting
You'd be surprised at how well diffusing cheep lights with an umbrella works.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon 3100 freehand no flash and 4 set up lights that I no longer own.Inspiration
As an adolescent I noticed the people around me and my body was never something I was comfortable with. This attention to the human body has grown through my art, not into a fear of my own skin, but a love for me, for others, and mainly for the human body, its texture and its curves. This drove me to make the human figure my work, but in a geometric and aesthetically pleasing way, in order to try to break the boundary, or ease, the sense of apology or regret we sense when looking upon a nude body in public.Editing
Photoshop is a key element to my photo. I start by taking the photo in and immediately changing the color mode to grayscale. Then I use masks to fiddle with the levels and exposure to ensure the area around my subject is a solid black. Once that is finished I take it to a larger canvas and start multiplying and layering the shots to create a pattern that is soothing then proceed to dodge and burn areas lightly. In my camera bag
Currently, my Cannon 6D, my old but faithful 50mm lens and my L series zoom 24-70mm lens.Feedback
A pitch black room, and a cloth backdrop. Paper will reflect the light making post processing significantly harder.
