Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken on a stroll in Tahoe, California. The beaches were calm, the weather changing from cold to warm.

Time

I like to go out early in the morning and take photos. Nature is just waking up. People are lazily strolling with their partner, hand in hand, and coffee in the other. Their hair messily thrown in a bun or hat, the birds quietly chirping, the sun tipping over the mountains to say good morning.

Lighting

Being under a dock, the only light that pours in is from the sides of the dock. The great thing about this lighting is the holes from above shed a beautiful light on the sand and lake below.

Equipment

This was taken with a canon rebel T5 in handheld! No tripod or flash.

Inspiration

I have a love of sitting by the ocean, so naturally

Editing

Minimal editing was done to this photo, if any at all. I was just trying to capture a unique perspective of underneath the dock looking into the lake.

In my camera bag

I usually have two lens with my Canon 5D Mark IV (recent upgrade). But now that I invested in the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Standard Zoom Lens, all my needs are met with one lens. My other go to is Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens. I have two extra batteries, extra lens caps, and 2 extra SD cards with me as well.
