The cactus wren is the state bird of Arizona. It's flamboyant dotted, rufous belly feathers, striped wings and tail, and mottled back colors combine for a distinctive appearance. Red eyes complete the look. The wren is nesting in this saguaro cactus. The photo was taken in Northern Arizona and is unedited.
