I have been always fascinated with reflections. I took this photo in a nearby park where I live in Maryland, US.Time
It was a freezing evening in January 2017, it rained all day and I was so bored at home. Casually with a friend, I randomly decided to make a quick visit to a nearby park and click some pictures of just for fun. Surprisingly I found this empty tree hanging in with a beautiful reflection in the lake. Felt so delighted and took as many shots as I could.Lighting
I generally like to shoot pictures in rainy season, when the natural lights are just perfect with clouds. Post fall season, when the woods turn into brown shades I love it more to click pictures, either be portraits or landscapes. There is something magical in the effect those colors make. At time you are just lucky to get that perfect light and silent waters.Equipment
This was shot with my Old Nikon Gear D5200 and 18-55mm lens, handheld.Inspiration
I love reflections. The silent weather, no one around, when you can enjoy nature's solitude and also think about the best views you can capture. When I saw that empty tree bend towards the lake showing perfect reflection, I felt like looking to mirror. Looking into your own soul and having all kind of thoughts about life.Editing
Personally am not a big fan of editing much. Here I did simple editing using Google Picasa tool to crop out some disturbances from the frame and give a pinch of Cross Process effect. In my camera bag
Earlier when I started photography as a learner I used to carry Nikon D5200 and few compatible lenses. Recently I bought Nikon D850 and made a kit with Tokina 16-28mm for Wide Angle (perfect for landscape photography), Tamron 90mm for Macro and Portraits (I still use it for Landscape vertical shots, it gives amazing frames at times) and Nikkor 70-200mm as Telephoto (one beast of a lens this one is).Feedback
You can fine reflections everywhere. Lakes, Rain puddles are the best places to get some awesome reflections. Early mornings or late evenings when water is silent makes for the perfect time for some amazing captures.
