I took this photo at my local studio that I rent on a regular basis.Time

I use a custom made ring light. It is about a yard in diameter. It is made out of wood, and has about 100 bulbs on it. It is on a platform that is on casters, and we have to weigh it down with about 15 sandbags so it doesn't tip over. It's my go-to light for headshots. It gives these fantastic catch lights in the eyes.Equipment
I used my Sony A7RII with my 90MM Macro shot at F4.0, 1/125s, and ISO 400. I set the white balance manually at 5000K. It was a constant light with the custom ring light I mentioned.Inspiration
I've always wanted to put gold foil on on my models. I have seen numerous beautiful pictures floating around the community, and I knew I need this shot in my portfolio. Breanne Ryan was available for a shoot, so we created the concept with my MUA Nicole Bruno. I had her add the gold foil a little at time, until she achieved the desired effect.Editing
I always bring my pictures into Lightroom first. I do all my color balancing there first. I make sure I have a good foundation to start on before I even go into Photoshop. After that is completed, then I do the rest of the editing in Photoshop. I clean up her skin using a few different techniques, including the heal toon, patch tool, clone stamp set at various opacities and flows, then I finish up with frequency separation . Once the skin is where I like it, I process the eyes and makeup. Then I do my dodging and burning with a few soft lights blended layers. That is the longest step.In my camera bag
I always carry my trusted macro. You never know when my model shows up and her eyes are stunning. I use that lens to capture her beauty. I carry the holy trinity at all times(16-35mm, 24-70mm, and 70-200mm). A flash with radio transmitter, GND filter, and ND filter, and a tripod also.Feedback
I would work with one MUA that you share similar ideas and concepts. If you are able to share those thoughts and concepts with one-another, it will translate very well into a finished product with your model. If you also develop a good relationship on set with your model, she will get more comfortable with your shooting style, and the pictures will just flow naturally!
