This track takes approximately six hours from Skyline Queenstown or 7-8 hours if you decide to check without the gondola to help you on your way.
Be warned though this track is pretty steep, especially after you reach the saddle, so bring plenty of food and water to keep your energy levels high.
But wow, it is so worth all that hard work! And if you're lucky, you may even be able to share your celebratory sandwich with a local Kea alpine parrot at the peak.
