Andrew was only 6 - months old when his uncle joined the U.S. Marines you would think a baby that young would not remember someone that was gone for long periods of time. It is now 5 1-2 - years later and these two have the closest relationship. Every time our son comes home on leave they pick up where they left off the last time. It is the most beautiful bond they have and it proves that a love this strong will never be broken by distance or time.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Manvel, Texas. Jeremy was home on leave from Marine boot camp so we did a photo session with his first nephew Andrew. They use to be best buddies and now they rarely get to see each other so this photo is priceless.

Time

This photo was taken early in the morning which is my favorite time of day to do portraits.

Lighting

The day was a bit overcast with a few clouds.

Equipment

I always use my Canon cameras and normally a portrait lens.

Inspiration

My inspiration was all about the relationship these two shared.

Editing

I did increase the contrast to get the clouds to pop a little more.

In my camera bag

I normally have two canon cameras a portrait lenses, a wide angle and a telephoto. Sometimes a macro lens. I prefer natural light so I normally do not carry a flash.

Feedback
