Behind The Lens

Location

Inverary, right by the shorline

Time

Lunchtime! I was actually there with a tour group (day job!) and luckily had my camera with me, as the water was stunning that day.

Lighting

Totally natural lighting, at the time of year the sun wasn't too high, but behind, so nice warmth and no too much contrast in the shadows

Equipment

Nikon d800, with the 28-300 lens

Inspiration

Look at that reflection! I love it when the water in the lochs is like a mirror, so had to make the most of it.

Editing

Just a little, I usually drop the highlights about 15, and up the shadows about the same, but that's pretty much it!

In my camera bag

Go to camera is the Nikon D800, with 24-70 f/2.8, the 80-200 f/2.8, and my all time favourite lens - the 50mm f/1.4.Spare batteries, memory cards, and a tripod if I'm heading out somewhere that I'm likely to get good landscapes...

Feedback

LIVE IN SCOTLAND, it's the most beautiful place! The West Highlands in particular, and in Autumn - early Winter, the mornings are so often still that shots like this are really easy to capture.
