The only sound at 2,000 feet is the hiss of gas fueling the balloon. Whatever direction the eye takes, there is a myriad of post cards waiting to happen. In the region of Chianti in Tuscany, people are starting their day – is that tiny speck a cow or a tractor? Why is there a fire in someone’s back yard? Whatever goes on in the houses, one thing is for sure – it’s organized. Look at the perfect symmetry of the groves and vineyards. It’s no surprise that wine and olive oil from Italy are eccellente! So fitting that our ride, which began at sunrise, ended with a champagne breakfast…on the ground.
